Win a Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Daypack

Ok,

This is an interesting challenge, read the rules and have a think about it.

Darren over at the UK site, Whitespider1066 ,has dreamed up a competition to win a Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Daypack (plus yet to be announced goodies we believe) .

Great competition and worthy of having a go at meeting the challenge if you are up to it

The idea is try and get everything you need for an overnighter into an Ultra-Sil Daypack , and then go and spend a night out using what you have in the pack.

Darren’s rules are:

  1. The pack being used has to be the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Daypack.
  2. Everything has to fit in the pack (not including photographic equipment). I’m going to allow no more than 2 litres of water to be carried in hand. So any more than that has to be found on route or near the camp site, or carried in the pack.
  3. You have to be able to cook a hot meal and make a hot drink in the evening.
  4. No pre dropping of supplies or equipment.

You can read the full story here and check out Darren’s list of gear he is planning to take here.

Frank received one of these great little packs for Christmas (we wrote it up here: Sea to Summit Ultra – Sil pack – a winner!) It is very tempting to enter this competition.

Now, the answer to the “interesting” part of the challenge is? You need to own one of the packs to enter and then win one…..

Ok, that being said, think of it as an ultralight challenge with the potential reward of a terrific new pack you can give away as a gift.

Do you think you could fit all your gear and food into a day pack for an overnighter?

What do you think would be the most challenging decision?

      Welcome Robin,
Thanks for dropping by the blog. They are great little backpacks, very handy as a spare one for side trips! I like the look of dehydrated butter on your site. Who would have thought!

    Frank,
thanks for the great post. Fair point on the prize and the rules. In my defense the prize was donated after the post was written. When I announce another prize next week I will also relax the rule about the make of the pack.

      Hey Darren,
Just having a bit of fun! (our readers are a pretty sharp bunch so I thought I would put it in there as comment bait for you) Good idea about relaxing the rules and look forward to seeing what your come up with.
