We had a lot of blogging plans this long weekend.
Some great plans and new topics to add.
Then there was the severe case of gastro that hit Frank on Thursday night, and Friday, and Saturday and Sunday. Now (late Monday) with a belly full of antibiotics, he can at least type…
Don’t you hate wasting all that time being sick? Just really glad we were not hiking or camping somewhere. (In addition, we had about 65mm (2″ plus) of most welcome rainfall, it would NOT have been much fun)
Three things of the 20 we wanted to do.
A pre-announcement is that Injinji are now sponsors of Our Hiking Blog (see the logo to the right)
They have given us a couple of pairs of their fantastic toe socks to give away. We decided to have a competition to win them, starting when Frank can think clearly enough to type it up. Keep an eye out for it next week…
We also had some interesting comments about the South Coast Track and Overland Track written by Natalie Obersky after she and her husband did both the walks in February 2010 (last month)
Check out her comments about the Overland Track here: Planning the Overland Track from Overseas or interstate and the South Coast Track here: Louisa River to Cockle Creek. They are very informative and thought provoking – thanks Natalie, your time and effort is much appreciated.
Ken is also a great regular commentator and he made some interesting observations about sourcing food for hiking in New Zealand recently i.e. in the supermarket! : You can read his comment here: Food for the Overland Track.
We hope you had a great weekend and plenty of rain too! Now it’s back to the couch.
